What is dog chiropractic care?
Dr. Busko explains on her website :
Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the structure(the spine and bones) and function(the nervous system) of the body and how that relationship affects the health of the animal. The nervous system coordinates all the activities of the body. If it is not functioning efficiently, the health of the animal can be adversely affected. The goal of chiropractic is to optimize the health of the animal. This is accomplished by allowing the body’s innate ability to heal itself which is affected and integrated through the nervous system.
What dogs benefit from Chiropractic treatment?
Active dogs, including working and sport dogs benefit from care.
Dogs with injuries or are recovering from surgeries.
Dogs with Dysplasia and Joint Problems
Would my healthy dog benefit from Chiropractic care?
Absolutely! On Dr. Busko’s blog she writes:
Motion palpation is the diagnostic part of a chiropractic exam. If you watch your chiropractor examining and adjusting your animal you will see them scan the body, palpating the spine and all the joints in the legs. This part of the exam allows the chiropractor to locate all the subluxations in the body. Subluxations are changes within the normal range of motion of a particular joint.
